Video Back up Format
The Video Backup saves to an AVI file and it is recognized as such on all of my devices across all platforms. However, nothing seems to read it. What am I doing wrong? I edit video for a living so this is at best, awkward for me. Are these H.265 files? Is there a particular playback reader that you recommend?

Hello, MudHut.
What's the product model of the device?
Could you please take a screenshot of your device information in your APP, and upload the screenshot here.
Thank you.
Thanks for the quick response. Its an HM 241. Where do I find the device info you're looking for in the app? App version is 3.3.17 btw
Screenshot in your Heimvision APP, setting----device information, you can upload the device information screenshot here
I am starting to feel dumber by the minute. This is the screen shot from the IP Pro app under settings. There is nothing that lists device information. Are you looking for something from the included desktop app? Remember this file was saved onto a usb device from the Video Backup menu item.
You can play the video through the computer build-in media player.
You can also use the VLC Media Player when it doesn't work.

After downloading several video repair desktop apps for my 64bit Windows 7 system to no avail, I found a fix. The open source, VLC media player https://www.videolan.org/ not only played the video, it allowed me to save it as an MP4 and send this one minute clip of vandalism that the recipient could actually view.
Its possible that I am the only person who's had problems reading the backup AVI files. Otherwise, suggest this option as a potential fix for others.
