Re: Motion Detection on HM 241. We are trying to determine the optimum settings / mounting for detecting motion. our objective is two-fold:1) ensure that motion triggers an email notification to us and 2) minimize the number of unwanted email notifications caused by "permissible motion".

Unit currently signals that motion was detected (displays yellow "moving man" icon upper right of screen) after about 8 seconds (8 seconds after continuous motion like walking begins), the yellow icon is displayed. The motion is large enough to effect change in several adjacent grids on the masking matrix and sensitivity is at 100%.

If the distance to be traveled is short, then the "mover" can traverse it in less than 8 seconds and no motion is detected (yellow icon is not displayed). How can we set the unit to detect motion more quickly (less than 8 seconds)?

First, the email could receive the notification.

Second, you can go to-channel settings-sensitivity-reduce the sensitivity.
